On 20th March 2019 at 21.58 it was the Spring Equinox. This time was marked by the sun reaching the equator on its journey north. It marks the first waxing quarter of the sun’s journey. Day and night became equal length and it was the start to the lightest half of the year.
Spring is heralded by renewal and new beginnings. There is optimism in the air and the buzz of excitement filters through both nature and our lives. When we are in synchronicity with nature our energy can feel revitalised and renewed too. In spring energy rises, our lives grow or expand in this season; we are inclined to cleanse from our winter hibernation – to plan, grow, be creative and develop on our insights from winter. This is known by those that follow the principles of yoga and Ayurveda.
It is the perfect time to spring clean, to clear out, to move and also to find a new love. It is a very exciting time and the energies around us work to bring new opportunities into our lives. It is a time of building and creating abundance. What we plan now determines our year ahead.
This renewal phase in our lives can bring change and a feeling of awkwardness and discomfort. But as nature changes and trusts that all will be well, so must we. In some extremes change can be shocking, devestating and life changing. However, it is important to remember extreme circumstances can also bring many opportunities to grow in a more fruitful direction. Change can help us to rebuild our lives into a much better future than we ever imagined.
As the sun’s light increases at this time of year it magnifies the strength and also the weaknesses in our relationships. As humans we do not realise this is to ensure that we fulfil our dreams and are happy. So, it is the perfect time to look deeply within and see how we may re-ignite our love, restore its course and strengthen it.
People decide to put their house on the market and sell up at this time of year. Any change that is intended can be planned to ease us through the transition. So, thinking about what makes your present place so special and deciding what you need in a new home or location is important. Planning during springtime is quite often the precursor to a move that happens later in spring or even early summer. The days are brighter, and your home will also look prettier with spring flowers in the front garden!
Love and New Connections
Many people come out of sleepy winter hibernation and want to reach out to others. It is a great time to make new friends. If alone, it is a good time to start a quest for love. Spring is the perfect time to join a new club, take up a new hobby and generally go out more. You never know you may meet that special person! As the weather brightens and the scenery changes colour, we can also be encouraged to buy new clothes and refresh our wardrobes. Pastel spring flower shades come onto the catwalks and enter the shops.
Humans have long mimicked nature and followed the seasons to live life to the full. This is the time of wedding shows and wedding planning. A bride can dream of a beautiful summer wedding. She can visit venues whilst the air is heady with the romance of spring flowers are in bloom.
Spring is a lovely time for all - no matter who you are and what stage you’re at, it refreshes the senses and brings out the best in everyone.
