Past Life Regression
In many cultures there is a strong belief that we have all lived previous lives in the past and will probably lead more in the future. Reincarnation is accepted in India as well as many other countries that believe how we behave in this life will affect how we come back next time. Although there is no actual proof of any of this, apart from the belief in it, one practice which is increasingly popular, especially in the Western world, is that of trying to regress, or go back, to see if any memories of a previous life exist in our unconscious minds!
This usually involves getting the client to relax, usually under hypnosis, and then a series of questions are asked to see if information may be released. Although this is usually done by a qualified practitioner at quite an expense per visit, there is also a means of trying this out for yourself, at no cost to you except your time! Of course, we don’t claim that this is as effective, but you might like to give it a try for yourself to decide if you think it’s worked for you.
Firstly, it’s important that you choose a quiet room to carry this out, with no distractions. Maybe dim the lights, place candles around the room or play soothing music quietly in the background, or burn relaxing oils. Have a pen and paper to hand to write down any thoughts or ideas that come to at the end the session.
Sit comfortably or lay down on a couch or bed, close your eyes and concentrate for a few moments on your breathing. In through the nose and out through the mouth is the accepted method to help slow the system down. When you feel relaxed, imagine a scene – I recommend walking through a forest as your first attempt. Carry on walking slowly for a few minutes to get the feel of the place, and then when you feel comfortable with the scene, stop! Now spent the next few minutes taking in the scene bit by bit – look closely at the branches and the leaves, listen to the rustle of the wind, smell the foliage in the air. Now slowly look down at your body – what are you wearing? Look at your feet, what are you wearing on them? At this stage many people claim that they are not wearing normal clothes or shoes, but strange garb. Now ask yourself what year it is and what your name is.
Once you have that information, continue with logical questions that follow on from the answers you are sensing –such as your age, sex, job, home and for each answer you sense, follow this through. After you feel you have got relevant information, slowly start concentrating back on your breathing until you feel ready to open your eyes. Immediately write down every answer you sensed, no matter how silly or irrelevant it may seem to you at the time. It is important that you keep all of these details as they may tie in with what you learn later. Some people don’t get satisfaction first time using this method, but don’t worry, practice makes perfect, as they say!
When you have used this system successfully I suggest you try again using a different scene next time, make it one that you have experience with – maybe a beach, or a mountain view that you like. The main thing is to allow your unconscious mind to wander and bring forwards any hidden memories that may be lurking buried in there.
I do hope you get some good responses from this method, but if you don’t at first, don’t just give up!
