Cancer Season: What To Expect, Useful Tips And Tricks On How To Make The Most Of This Cancer Season

We have entered cancer season on June 21^st which aligns with our Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, Solstice blessings to you all!

Cancer season means so much to me on a personal level, it was during this time 12 months ago, lying in bed on a Friday evening, that I made the decision to sell my house, get rid of the vast majority of my possessions, deregister my children from school and run to rural Wales. Planet Earth was going through some major energetic shifts, and the Cancer season energy made me address what is prevalent during this period and I found myself at the estate agents by 9:30am the next morning.

So, what was it about cancer season that led to this dramatic life changing decision? The energy. There are some ‘keywords’ for this period and the first few are family, home and healing. I ended up in Wales and not a tropical climate because I couldn’t bare going too far from family. Also, where I consider home…I consider it where my children and mother Gaia are. Then healing…. As a human collective, regardless of views.. we all needed to heal given the alternate reality that followed the pandemic. So, to summarise a long story cut short me and my children are here in Wales due to Cancer Season!  

So, how do YOU use this season to make the changes needed in your life? Let us explore the elements of this season and then apply them personally and discover the traits of Cancerians: emotional, water signs, hard on the outside soft in the centre like typical crabs and homebodies. HOME is a key word here, who or what do you consider ‘home’. This never needs to be a physically standing building, only you will know the answer…again who or what is home? Where is your security and your comfort blanket?  

Cancer season is like an astrological New Year’s Day. It started at the exact halfway point of the year. Did the previous six months not live up to your expectations? Fear not, this is a time to reset, leave it behind, forget it, rest, and focus on the following six. One of the biggest aspects we can take from this emotional time is FORGIVENESS and HEALING. There’s a beautiful healing mantra I listen to very often (My Healing by Sophie Spallino). Forgiveness is vital to moving on in life, forgiveness is essential for inner peace and there is no better time than this season to really focus on this difficult aspect because that’s what it is.. difficult. Of all the ‘human’ traits we need to deal with…forgiveness is, by far, the hardest.  Should you still struggle I would love to share some wisdom from her beautiful words… “radically accept it was NOT ok, but it is all ok now” and “forgiveness is not condoning, forgiveness is not allowing the past to control my present moment now”. Can you take something from this? Is there something that can resonate on a personal level?

Some very simple pointers and season advice, sit in a self-love bath, sit in your car for an extra ten minutes, sit at your desk and take a few minutes out…..dwell on these words, and contemplate them. What comes up for you from this?  Please listen to the recommended healing mantra, play it loud and sit in the words. Need to cry? Cry, cry until no more tears are available. It’s an emotional time and crying has such cathartic health benefits.

This season isn’t all doom and gloom and life-changing decisions, your intuition is also at its highest!
