Full Snow Moon in Leo

These early February cold nights during freedom loving Aquarius season welcome the Full Moon in Leo on 5 Feb 2023 at 18:28pm. This is also the first opportunity I have had to wish all our amazing clients a Happy New Gregorian Year! I hope you all have had a special time with your families and friends and created amazing memories. Pope Gregory XIII introduced a revised calendar in 1582 which set January the 1st as the New Year although, astrologically, it is usually April, Aries Season and the spring equinox, so don't you think this would make so much more sense to celebrate then? To acknowledge a New Year during a time of new beginnings? When mother nature is starting to come back to life, when the life giving Sun is starting to give us more light in our days? When we ourselves start to plant our own seeds for growth? January just isn't the right time for this. We should be "wintering", just like mother nature is. We should be resting. We should be hibernating like hedgehogs and bears. Author Katherine May expresses: 'Plants and animals don’t fight the winter; they don’t pretend it’s not happening and attempt to carry on living the same lives that they lived in the summer. They prepare. They adapt. They perform extraordinary acts of metamorphosis to get them through.'

 
The point I am making is, go easy on yourself. Don't buy into the new year new me hype, don't rush or push yourself, ignore the media drivel to make changes at this time. Look at mother nature and learn from her, this is the wrong time for all the things we are programmed to think we should be doing. Look after yourself.

So, as for this beautiful Snow Moon in Leo, we still should be within and slow. I have always found Leos curious creatures. It's as if they are expected to be the Lions they are labelled, fierce and dominant, but I have yet to find a Leo that matches the untamed stereotype. We leave that to our Aries and Scorpios! Yes, Aries and Scopios have the aggressive and reactionary outer persona but very few, if any, other signs can match the inner strength of our Leo lions. This Snow Moon asks us to channel our inner Leos and as we slowly crawl towards the real new year, this is a perfect time to consider how to strengthen our inner weaknesses and congratulate ourselves on our inner strengths.

 
Two perfect ways to do this are journaling and releasing. However your Moon ritual may look to you on Sunday night for your Moon work (I have covered this extensively in previous articles), once you are comfy and ready, take your journal and also a seperate piece of paper. Start with the paper and really go within and write down what you feel are your most hindering weaknesses. For example, what is your greatest weakness in YOUR opinion? Now, describe a time this weakness held you back. Be as in depth as you can, and when you feel ready (safely) burn the paper to release your weaknesses that you don't want to carry into the new year with you in March.

 
Then, in your journal, show yourself some love and gratitude as you praise yourself on your strengths! For example, write down in detail your proudest accomplishment or ask yourself what do you appreciate most about your personality? When have you really had to stand strong in the face of adversity? Be proud of the strength you have as you channel your inner Leo.
