We should talk more about the death.

This week I have lost a good friend of over 50 years. He was my late husband's best friend. They came to me as a cheeky pair and always made me laugh. We met as teenagers and stayed friends through all of the ups and downs of life. My friend held my son when he was only hours old having talked his way into the maternity ward. I always knew he would be there for me if I needed help. He was a good man.

Sadly my friend has been terminally ill for 10 months. We still met up and laughed but in the background our hearts were heavy. The dying process can be protracted and not easy to participate in. As my friend's health deteriorated, he no longer wished to meet up. He was a very private man and didn't want me to see him as he had become. I had to respect his wishes, but it wouldn't have worried me how he looked. He was still the friend he had always been.

As the end drew near, my friend wanted to meet one more final time. It was as if he delayed passing until he had seen me. Although frail, his good humour was still there which eased the meeting for both of us. I am a strong believer in the After Life but he was not so sure. I know we will meet again.

After our final meet-up, I gave my friend a healing for the dying. It was never going to fix his body, but I believe it could ease his transition and create a stronger link between him and his loved ones still on Earth. At first, he will be busy in the After Life. But when he is ready, he will more easily be able to connect with us. During the healing I saw his soul standing outside of his body looking at all the nurses were doing for him. I realised he was preparing to leave and glad that he was no longer experiencing the ravages of the final stages of his illness.

Two hours after the healing, my friend passed. I bade him adieu and look forward to seeing him again at my welcome home party when I pass, if not before.

The bridge between the physical Earth and the After Life is much stronger than most people recognise. If you speak to bereaved people, many will say how their passed loved one has given them a sign that they are still around. You need to be alert for however they are able to signal to you. It might be the words of a song on the radio that jump out at you, a smell, a feather or many other small signs that are significant to you.

Death is but a transition from one state to another. You are still alive after you die and take with you the love and memories you have from your life on Earth. In the After Life your memories will expand as you remember former lives you have had. Your soul and spirit are energy and can not be destroyed.

There is much to live for after you and your loved ones pass from Earth to the After Life.
